An environment for games created as part of my mentorship at Think Tank Training Centre. I was responsible for all aspects of the project, including modelling, texturing, lighting, main concept, and optimization.
I wished to focus on hard surface for the majority of this project's assets, and utilize good sci-fi design that is functional yet visually appealing. I took a lot of inspiration from games like Portal and Dues Ex, and tried to incorporate their elements into the scene.
I also was able to build some tools to help get the look I was going for. These included a custom spline tool that let me change geometry complexity, segments per point, uv scaling, and geometry shape quickly and easily. I also created a shader to handle the procedural texture screens. While not quite as technical, this was my first time using trims extensively, and I learned quite a lot about reusing textures with purpose. I greatly enjoyed working on this scene and I am pleased with the result!
